The Gordon Relocation Assessment Protocol For Children

The GRAP is a clinical forensic assessment protocol. It is designed to evaluate the circumstances of a child in light of a request by a parent or guardian to change the location of the child’s primary residence.

In this procedure, the location of the primary residence is that place designated by court order or by the agreement of the child’s parents or guardians. The GRAP is a research instrument intended to guide the clinician in forming a sound expert judgment about the advisability of the request for relocation for the child. It is expected that the resulting expert opinion will be considered by the court, the attorneys, the parties or other interested persons in determining what is best for the child.
